I dropped by Aquarist Chamber to stock up on some goodies for myself and I thought the members here may enjoy some pictures. Please excuse the picture quality I only had my IPad. Entry lol Counter with some stock & shrimp tanks Shrimp pictures again sorry for the quality. I totally stuffed PRL pictures! Thanks to Alvin for allowing me to take these pictures. My iPad is about to die so ill load these and add more tomorrow. Lol I planned on staying for 30 mins but ended up shrimp staring for 4 hours, my wife thought I got kidnapped lol. Chatted to a local shrimpkeeper and got invited for lunch. Got some tips from Alvin himself too. Great day out. Hope your guys enjoy these pics as much as I do lol

What a fantastic looking store and with so many gorgeous shrimp! Lucky my sister has just moved back here after living in Singapore for several years, otherwise I'd be badgering my partner to go over to see her even worse than I was before just so I could lose a few hours in The Aquarists Chamber lol. Thanks for sharing some pics of your visit there Disciple

Your tanks looking great and I look forward to seeing your updates. I used ADA Amazonia in my last tank and it took about 6 weeks to stop releasing ammonia.

I wouldn’t be to bummed if you counted 123 in there the other day even if you lost 1/5 that’s still a sheet load of shrimp left haha congrats on your success! I’m still waiting for my first crs to mature hopefully i can start counting hordes of shrimplets soon too!

Thank you Matuva. This morning I noticed that we seem to have less shrimplets. The older shrimplets are a little bigger too so they must've moulted and we lost a few. I've lost quite a few CRS since we first brought Miss 4 her/our first 10 CRS in June. I've had to add a few more along the way otherwise they'd have all died out and I didn't want to give up on them. I never thought I'd see so many shrimplets in there tank though, buts it's been a real buzz seeing it. SKF is a fantastic forum and the members are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful when things go wrong.

Having taken a bit of time to work through this thread I can see its generated a fair amount of interest. The whole CRS vs PRL thing also comes down to a level of trust. I've brought PRLs myself from somebody whom I trust completely and when he says mid-grade PRLs I'm okay with that. Its exactly the same as we've seen with others, people selling TBMs as TBs, it shouldn't happen but we have a lot of people trying to make money in a short time. The only good thing I'd say is most tend to fail and then move on to other species. For anybody selling you PRLs they should be able to tell you the line or at least whom they brought them from, my own group I've labelled as PRL - BSOZ, so pretty obvious where mine come from. I've only a small group of PRLs but I've got to say the white intensity is just gorgeous, but the colour is full for both the red and white, thats what I like the most. I'm also pleased to say I've a girl who is berried at the moment so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes through and the low grades or the ones that aren't up to scratch will move into my CRS tank. Anything that can help to improve their quality can't be a bad thing but there is a lot of culling to be done for PRLs to keep the standards up. We've seen so many other lines drop of as people head purely for numbers as opposed to quality, such a shame but all I'd suggest is look towards Yellow and Sunkists Cherry Shrimps, a lot of these are very pale these days with selective breeding programs being thrown out and the focus purely on numbers. There are a lot of people claiming PRL but from my investigations I'd suggest we have 3 maybe 4 lines of PRLs in Australia, and maybe 2 lines of PBLs. If you're buying and spending good money ask the hard questions, if you can't trust the buyer then run like hell and let the rest of us know as well.

My green selective breeding colony are from sunkist, red & blue velvet base. Not expecting any consistency for the next few generations though, throwing lots of mixed colours / variations still.
