What are these things called again?

Pretty sure they are snails, and they annoy me. Best way to get rid of them?

They are most likely freshwater limpets. They are great at keeping algae off your glass and dont seem to eat plants. Lots of people think they look unsightly, but I dont see why.

There is a thread here on how to remove them. I'll try and find the link.

Thanks @fishmosy looks like i'll be squishing a few. Good to know though that they are harmless.
