Tapatalk - pic upload error

Tapatalk has a great feature that lets you share pics straight from your iPad/iPhone/tablet to its own server instead of having to use a third party like photobucket/imageshack etc.

But only on SKF do I get an error with using it. All other forums I access with tapatalk work fine. Can someone please look into it?

Upload fail

The upload failed, please contact a member of staff to rectify the problem

That's the exact message I get and just tried it again. Both for taking a pic or trying to use one from the photo gallery

For a regular member, the file size limit is set to 2MB which should be plenty. For mine, it even asks what size to upload the image.

Ok I just had this same issue with another forum where it used to work fine for me before and it didn't this time. Kept telling me to update tapatalk.

When I went to the App Store to update I couldn't find my installed one. Looks like they have launched a new version of the app which doesn't update the old one. Removed old app and added the new one and all is good again.

Your account looks fine on SKF as well, I've checked it out a few times already.

Just to be sure new tapatalk still uploads ok:

Are you using pro? Tapatalk recently updated their app and dropped their pro line. I'm able to use pro to do certain photo uploads but it doesn't work for all. I've contact tapatalk about this... No response. HAHHAA

...I hate them...

I really dislike the new app but am pleased that it allows me to post pics directly finally.

You are not alone. You should check out the tapatalk forums at the number of people trying to get them to change it back. Also, if you paid for Tapatalk Pro, you should have VIP status so you don't get the ads. I hate the new app.

So, I've since found an issue with using the tapatalk server to host images. They open it for all to see via google indexing. This means that if you post to a private forum but choose to use them to host the image, the restrictions here on SKF don't apply as the image is external. Something to be aware off.

I'm also considering the future of tapatalk here on SKF as since they've changed ownership the focus on developing a quality product has gone down the drain. Some of the recent changes they've done are really terrible and causing many users and forum admins grief. Not to mention development for a version that supports the new forum software has not occurred.

None really but the new site works well with mobiles so it kind of makes tapatalk redundant.

One interesting thing he mentioned was "Bacteria pressure", which I guess just means number of bacteria around.  Yet I see all these other videos from shrimpkeepers bragging about how much bacteria their filtering system holds. Also interesting is no mention of using anti-biotics to treat bacterial infection.  I think that has fallen out of favor recently.

It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.
