I have been asked to post some pictures of my community tank. This is where the majority of my culls go plus where I have my Crystals , Mischlings and TB at the moment because of the heatwave we had. It is an Aqua One 980 with overhead trickle filter, 4 sponge filters, 3 various lights I only use 1 at a time I know there is a plant light but not sure which one or what the others are as I bought the tank second hand. It holds about 200 -210 litres of water but as I have a few Tibees in there I don't have it filled right to the top -they are great escape artists and love wandering. The tank has RO water, salty shrimp plus I add minerals weekly to it. Thank you. I have modified the filter, I have noodles, ,then blue sponge , then white filter wool pads- bought on a roll and cut to size, then in the filter outlet I have some bioballs and a purigen bag. The water seems to be very good and very stable. When I change the filter wool (very rarely) I only do 1 insert at a time and rarely wash the sponges as they don't get very dirty. I also have sponge filters as a prefilter on the inlet to save babies getting sucked in, these get rinsed in the tank water when I do water changes each week.

The plant at the back is good old vallis and the shrimp love hanging out in it. They also love climbing around on the rocks and the females hide in the crevices. It is a little bit overgrown which makes it hard to see all the shrimp but we like the look and as it's in the lounge it needs a bit more than moss.

I use Benibachi Mironecton powder -only need to add a small amount once or twice a week. you can get it from Dean

I like the Vallis as a back ground plant especially in a tall tank.
