aluminium fly screen, shrimp safe or not?

A question to you other shrimpers...

In the past Ive used an aluminum fly screen found at bunnings to make fish tank dividers .. im pretty sure its the one used by people so that they're dogs and cats don't scratch them to death..

Reason i ask is that i find them to be great and cheap when used with plastic laminated poster hangers...

ive used normal fly screen on my shrimp tanks although i don't like its flexibility

NOW.. will this aluminum mesh be harmful to crs..?

will it leak out any nasties..?

Has anyone used this stuff in the past?

cheers in advance

i have never used it before but would say to just be careful and check if its been coated with anything that may leach into the water...

As long as there is nothing coating it it will be safe. We usually don't have electrical currents passing through mesh in our tanks or a ph so low it can dissolve aluminum. Aluminum forms an aluminum oxide layer that prevents the rest of it from oxidizing.
