Hi fellow shrimp lovers :)

I hope I wont offend some of you, but I breed Red Cherry Shrimp and Endler's live bearers for my turtle.

I do love them though and try and give them the best home possible, sometimes I enjoy watching the shrimp more than the turtle.

They seem to be very social creatures, having little congregations at different places in the tank. Has anyone else kept Red Cherry Shrimp and Endler's together ?

G'day Shazza :) I've kept some red cherrys with guppy before. Even with a fair bit of cover in that tank, the shrimp population more or less stayed stable. Some baby shrimp made it, most got eaten.

There are some good people on here who know their stuff with selective breeding, ( unfortunately I'm not one of them... yet ;) you could try breeding something new in your shrimp, I believe there are orange, blue, chocolate ect that have been bred from the cherry's. Feed your culls to your turtle. Double the fun :)

Hey there Shazza. What types of turtle do you keep? Im looking in to red-eared Siders at the moment.

As for your qustion about keeping red cherries in with guppies yea that work fine. I have a tank setup atm with red cherries/ Guppies/ Peppermint BN/ Longfin BN and they all are breeding well together the odd RCS shrimplet will get eat but you don't really see it as there all ways up in high numbers dew to the breeding rate. also keeping moss and etc in the tank will give shrimp/lets alot hiding spots so they dont get eat!!

Also like Millsy said i would be feeding them all only culls as you can maybe get some nice fire red or may a new colour to look at ..

Nice is that your 1st turtle you have kept. Can't wait to see some images of its setup. But yes just like Loach said they are the ones you feel have the least least colour and worse pattens
