Silly question: These are Caridinia spp, will they cross breed with the common caridinias that we keep? (ie CRS/BS)

I always thought that they would or at least could. Life will find a way and all that. I have been told it cant happen or wont happen, but I have seen some pretty odd combinatons of different species and am inclined to mark them as possible even if highly unlikely of producing viable offspring.

My female DAS are almost always berried, so I finally got some ok pics of one of the girls. I had to shift her off the rear fake rock wall which is their usual hang out. The eggs are tiny and with the filter and hungry fish mouths in the tank I don't really expect to ever find any shrimplets from these guys.

If it wasn't for these guys being so much chunkier and bigger than red nose shrimp they could almost be confused for them.

Shrimplets are sneaky just wait and see you neve r know they may surprise u :-)

I am betting if I put the DAS in my native tank with my other NT shrimp then I probably would see some shrimplets. But the DAS would dwarf the other in there and even give the spotted blue eyes a shock.
