Rainforest spotlighting (not shrimp)

Hi All

My self and 4 Females went spotlighting on Easter Sunday night, we took 5 hours to walk 2.8km and got to see lots, we did see our target species Tree Kangaroos but they were to high to get photos of, so here is a couple of the things we spotted. 4 Women don't you think I got a hard time and the Wife Did not defend me she picked on me to LOL.

Love the white kneed cricket. That's something hubby and I will have to look at doing while up there, night spot lighting. I have not seen a ringtail possum in the wild (hubby did by chance in Brisbane a couple of years ago but not me :crushed:) so seeing a green ringtail would be amazing. I also would love to see striped possums, they look so sweet.

Where do you live that doesn't have possums?! Did a u-turn the other night in my street and there was a ringtail sitting there looking at me, cute little guy.

Those chameleon geckos are gorgeous though! A bit of pain would be worthwhile to see them!

Oh we have possums just mostly brush tailed, not so much where I am now but in some parts of Gracemere there are brush tails, heaps in Rockhampton and Bilo, just no ringtails. I know there are also sugar gliders in the area as well as feather tailed gliders. If I could ever keep feather tailed gliders as pets I would be in seventh heaven.

Any way the aim of Saturday week is to photograph the Feather tail gliders and may be the Nightjars on there nests as well as Pythons

Well you will have to come back and if you do, make it to cover the 3rd weekend of the month as that is the only weekend I get off, I get the Second Sunday of the month off to.

So what did you think of Cairns?

We love Cairns have been several times but still haven't been out to the reef hubby gets sea sick! Hope to come back in a year or two so much of australia still to see. Have done lots of desert trips with the 4wd and a tent but now doing coastal trips with a caravan.

The invite for a guide stands, I have a good understanding of all sorts of wild life up here, Aquatic critters are my passion and there is so many of the Tourist trail things to see.

Thanks Bob next time we come up that way it would be great to meet up with you. We stayed at lake placid last time beautiful place, did lots of touristy things up on the tablelands , biggest trouble we had was we travelled with our dog so that restricted us until we found doggy daycare. Would be great to see some of the wild life. Will definitely take you up on the offer

Fungi= fun guy= gay?, Its OK I have Gay friends and give them heaps to.

I will have to get a photo of one of the Girls as I got rid of mine as they were HO HUM

Squiggle, Glow in the dark Fungus! Mount Mee near Dayboro, All of the walks in the Mt Mee Stat Forest have glow in the dark Mushrooms and Fungus, you do have to go at night and turn you lights off all the time.
