Shrimplette nutrition

Hey everyone,

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on shrimplette nutrition, I've been using Bee Pollen but I want to vary the diet. What does everyone else use for their shrimplettes. :encouragement:

Nutrition for shrimplets is extremely important.....tanks with generous biofilm/mulm is a great start, but a variety of powdered food is a critical and a necessity to ensure good shrimplet % survival. Powdered food like Boizyme, Shrimpton (mosura), Kale (Benibachi), plus whatever commercial powdered food you can get your hands on will give them the variety of food/nutrition they require. On a natural side, besides bee pollen, there's powdered barley grass, or simply pound up normal shrimp food to a powder, and feed your shrimplets.

Health food shops. I have found Biozyme to be an excellent product and have recently started using Mosura bioplus.

Mosura Bioplus is great, since I started using this the shrimplet survival rate has been outstanding.

Biozyme is the product i use and trust. Its probably the easiest out of all commercial shrimp foods to obtain.

Genchem make it. It is available in some aquarium shops in sydney. Look online, I know some sell it.

What made you decide to add Nettle to the list of ingredients.. I have never heard of it being used as a shrimp food?

A lot of keepers use the leaves' date=' Stinging nettle is one of the most healthy leaves you can consume, has many good properties, do a google search and you will see what I mean. This is why they protect themselves with these stinging needles! Chuck a few boiled leaves in and the shrimp love them!

Wonder where I can get some nettle seeds from. I do remember as a child my little sister and a friend at the age of 3 or 4 rolling down a hill covered in nettles, still makes me laugh just thinking about it

Mate eBay will answer all your needs! very cheap for seeds as well...

Yep farms are ridiculed with them as they love growing around well fertilized land (poop), I have a variety that somehow ended up growing where my dog takes a dump in backyard!LOL!
