Small Rcs setup

Im thinking of starting an rcs tank with the following considerations

Lifestock: rcs

Substrate: (inert?) light coloured sand/gravel

Plants: duckweed and anubias. No co2

Filter: sponge filter + bio rings/ balls in tank

Q1.what is the min. Tank size to have a stable cycle?

Q2. Is there a suggestion for light coloured substrate, either inert or active?

Q3. Do I need to dose bacteria, e.g ADA bacter 100?

Thanks!

Any size tank as long as it has adequate filtration. I find 20L very common amongst starters.

Sand that is used in playgrounds. I find the shrimp look better on dark substrate.

Bacterial additives help cycle a new tank faster, but is not 100% necessary. If you have another tank already mature and running for a while, the squeezings (i know thats not a word) from that filter media would be of greater benefit that any other bacteria in a bottle.
