Sump or individual filters?

I'm planning a small rack for keeping Caridina shrimp. I'm undecided whether to go with a sump or individual filters. The sump would be simplest and would be less work, but of course if something goes wrong all the tanks would be affected, although I haven't seen much on here about shrimp diseases.

Opinions?

BTW if I go down the filter route I'm going to make matten filters for all the tanks

Next question (set up plan has changed to 6 24*12*15) While it would be nice to use some of the specialised shrimp substrate, for 6 tanks this is going to be very expensive. Any other options? I don't want to use sand as the tank I have my shrimp in gets very messy looking, and its hard to siphon with very small shrimp.

Could always do something like this,

Im still waiting for the SS mesh to build the filter guards, the stuff I had, I needed to use for another build.

theres a 40L sump underneath the main planted tank I still haven't plumbed in.

And I've got a chihiros led coming (which is taking forever) to go over the top to also grow individual buce and that in each compartment, ATM it's just a crappy diy led on top.

Well the whole thing is diy but that was just temporary lol

I recently added an airstone into each one just to keep them fresh cause some prick sold me sick shrimp.

Sorry I didn't reply, I missed this post. The set up looks similar to what I've done excepting that huge tank underneath. I did use Matten filters in the end as I was scared if something went wrong I could wipe out all the tanks.
