Blackmore River shrimp

Baccus

Recommended Posts

First up the tank my Blackmores are living and breeding in, they share it with a couple of Darwin Red Nose, Chameleons, at least one Darwin Algea Shrimp, a growing school of spotted blue eyes and a few hundred snails.

The log dominates the tank and all  the shrimp take full advantage of the dark recesses of it.

Most of the above pictures are of juvi or sub adult shrimp.

I havn't seen the Blackmores available at Aquagreen for quite a while and its good to see them doing so well for you.  All your shrimp are strongly coloured - you are doing something right!

Thanks, I put it down to a variety of food and the HUGE hollow log giving them lots of tannins, and  possibly even all the snail crap in the tank. I often see the shrimp eating the snail crap, so I wonder if there is some compnantant they need from it that they cant get any other way.
