Feeding RCS

Recommended Posts

When I received my first red cherries, I noticed that they eat a very few. I was even anxious, though, I said myself that the bio film is just enough for 10 shrimps in a 160 litres tank.

Now, most of the adults are dead - only 3 adult females left- but luckily, they had time to breed, and I have now about 80 juveniles.

Those juveniles and the 3 adults left now come immediately to eat the food I drop in the tank: small portion of banana, algae waffer...

How can I know I'm feeding enough or too much? Usually, they gather on the food till nothing is left. e.g. the banana portion( size of index nail, 3 millimeters thick) is eaten during the night.

Should I feed each day? I clean only the front glass, leaving the 3 other ones with algae on it.

The tank is cycled, but not so many plants. They have yet to develop...

I'd say leave the back and side glass with the algae on to graze on as they wish and either pop in a small piece of banana every 2 or 3 days or you could mix it up with some other fruits or vegies or try some Shrimp Crack, rate that stuff.
