Quick update on the rack.

Still need to sort out the lighting I think I'll get 'make my led' lighting for the top row.

Installed an stc controller for the heaters and chiller.

Still stocking both plants and shrimp ....... This will take some time as I'm struggling to find the $$$

Current stock is

Chocolate cherries

Red cherries( best from my planted tank)

Crs different grades

And some mischlings. Just need a Tb to keep them company.

Awesome man! As buck has said the set up looks great!

Like the look of that fire red. The crs are nice too!

What else do you have in all those tanks?

Not much atm..... A few endlers.

The Crs will throw cbs. So I'll work on them and one of the crs has lots of red so I'd like to work on a mainly red crs.

Plenty of space so could go anywhere. I'm treading carefully after losing all my k14s and Tb's.

Tip for everyone ..... Don't ever let a pest controller anywhere near the room your shrimp are in.....live with the bugs!

I need to aquire a bluebolt for my mischlings.

I have a bullet proof way of defending the shrimp against pesticides :)

We get the house sprayed yearly with not 1 loss to date

Afew people have used our method with great success

I covered the tanks with glad wrap and turned everything off.....I believe there was residual dust left over and that it made its way into the tanks a few weeks later. They reside in my garage so stuff gets moved around and with doors open can be a bit of a breeze way.

Stc1000 is a control unit with a temp probe...... You can buy them on eBay.you just need to wire them up yourself Google it it's not that hard just make sure you house the wiring in a safe enclosure....don't play with anything plugged in etc.

I use them in my brewery for controlling ferment temps. But they are excellent for tanks because if the heaters or chillers get stuck on the unit turns everything off once it reaches the set temp.

Sorry about the loss of your shrimp.

I hope you get your tb's started and as you have said you got lots of room to grow!

Cling wrap is good

But next time throw Damp towels over the tank ontop of the cling wrap

Then Afew more layers of dry towels or sheets

It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.

Yes it’s super accurate to position where I want now and stay there- I am satisfied.  All the fish and shrimpers are doing excellent! Coming up on 4 years running!

You must be pleased with that, it looks better and is much more robust and less likely to damage or leaks! The tank looks very natural now it has been running for a time. I see the ember tetras, how are the blue shrimp doing, I see a few? The cat and dog look very content and unimpressed, lol.
