Berried Riffle shrimp!

Very excited to find a berried female.   :jig:

+1:  I bet you need green water too, as big as riffles are the eggs still look tiny. Best luck, I want to try to breed then raise some of these too.

I think the eggs look really tiny too. I don't hold much hope, but it's all a learning experience.

I am just so pleased that the riffles are happy enough to breed. Makes me feel I am doing something right for them.

Yes. Give it a try.

My only concern would be salinity. My theory is that the larvae require high salinity to develop through a multitude of larval stages. High salinty = high hardness = plenty of calcium for moults.

However, there are highland riffles that (should) develop through larval stages entirely in freshwater e.g. Those above geographical blocks such as high waterfalls. Therefore its possible that high salinity is not critical or required.

Interested in this also - did you put any larvae in to green water?  How long did the mother hang on to the eggs?
