hello from sunshine coast

hello everyone,

as you could have probably already guessed by now, my name is jordan, im from the sunshine coast, and im 19.

its only quite recently iv been interested in shrimps, i used to just look past them thinking they where overpriced funny looking little bugs, till i went down to the creek and caught my first glass shrimp, after that i began to watch them as ate and moved, filling un the tank with offspring as they went, so, a few months ago i decided i needed to get something a little nicer then a few glass shrimp (maybe not quite nice as some of your CRS) maybe some of the nicer ones in the cheery family, but first i had to get them a home, so thats when i started this project ----------- > http://www.aquariumlife.com.au/showthread.php/44619-25cm-DIY-cube-project-FINISHED...-pretty-much...

(will get some more recent photos when i have more time)

it's still a little bit of a work in progress, but i think it should be ready to house some nice shrimps before to long.

dont be afraid to say hi, and tell me what you think

cheers

Jodan

Welcome to SKF mate. I do remember seeing your thread before although I'm not over on AL as much these days. We have an area here as well if you wish to post any build logs.

Yours was a great DIY too btw. I did a DIY with those metal tubes a little while back as well: http://www.shrimpkeepersforum.com/forum/showthread.php/187-NoGi-s-One-Tree-Nano-Tank

What an awesome DIY project! Do you have any critters in there yet? I'd love to see some more updated photos :)

thanks everyone for the comments, dont have time to say much as im just about to go to work but i thought i would put up a couple of picture of the tank now.

at the moment the filter is an aquaclear 20, bought it and it turned out bigger then i thought, if anyone has any suggestions for a good, quiet, hang on filter that is less then 10.5cm wide, dont be afraid to say something

one of the glass shrimp that call it home for now

this is the tank as of this morning, tree is weeping moss, carpet is mini fissidens (looking a bit patchy, may have to redo it), and i have some chunks of mini pelia around the rocks
