DAS has my vote, but depends on the type of algae you're targeting, but I'd go with both..... The DRN are fascinating :-)

What type of Algae does the DAS eat?

And does the DRN eat different algae?

I've got both DAS and DRNS in my tanks.

I feel the DAS, being bigger tends to do a better job munching through string/hair algae.

Only issue is, if you have other shrimps in the tank and you throw in shrimp food, the DRNS and DAE shrimps will eat those too.

That's good to know Ally.

Hair algae is always a common issue.

Anyone know if DAS or DRNS eat staghorn algae?

I think you meant Caridina Typus. As AllyL mentioned, they do prefer shrimp food if readily available.
