Yeah, I already have 5 tanks set up (down from 22) with fish but have been wanting to take the plunge into shrimp for awhile now.

Cant wait to get some CBS and other more difficult species once I have cut my teeth on cherries.

Congrats Adro! It all starts with one tank!

Enjoy, they are such fun to watch. I hope they do really well for you, don't forget to ask if you have any questions we may be able to help with!

Don't underestimate the challenge of Cherries. The Yellows can be difficult and there are a lot of great variations to choose from. Getting good depth of colour is another challenge - but damn you will need more tanks . Welcome to SKF.

Love cherries,as said lots you can do with them.Getting good depth of colour is my main focus along with trying my hand at colour creation.

Best of luck with your shrimp and you will need to set some of those tanks back up .

Thanks @Daydream there is some massive motivation in your tanks judging by the photos I have seen of your shrimp.

Nice look shrimp, i never could breed the yellows lol. If your going for colour depth make sure you dont add other coloured cherries as it will ruin your colour pool potentially

Yeah they will all be in seperate tanks, just set up my second shrimp tank, this one will have black cherries in it (the wifes request) so I will have yellows and blacks next to each other in seperate tanks, should be a nice contrast.

Stop it.....Telling me things like that is not going to help my finances :)

The bug has well and truly bitten now. To the point where the wife has told me to try to sell our colony of F1 Moba Frontosa to free up some funds for more shrimp!!

On a side note, I couild of sworn I saw a post on sexing shrimp the other day but I cant find it now. Can anyone help me out with this one below? Male or Female?

Also, any tips on sexing these would be much appreciated.

Just found this pic on google to best describe it, you will notice the female has a greater depth of colour and her body is larger for holding the eggs underneath and the male is more the slim line and narrow.

Cherrys are the easiest to sex of the shrimp varients

Thanks @OzShrimp after looking at the above pic, I think she is a girl too. I havent got a light for the tank yet, so had to use a torch but got a half decent pic below. Do you agree with girl?  I guess I just need to find a good quality boy now.

I think yellows have come a long way since they first came onto the scene. Thats when i first had them so dont think they were as hardy back then.
