So I watch this video & thought I'd give it a go to see how easy it is, gotta say I was quite surprised to be able to make a three tier rack for under $50 in less than 2hrs.

http://youtu.be/3ffely-t4iw

First I got the timber & screws & cut everything to length with the drop saw.

Then with the circular saw I cut out the channels as in the video.

Then I laid it all out & glued & screwed the front & back frames.

Then I glued & screwed the side braces in place.

& vwalah!! 2hrs later I have a three tier stand that can hold six 600w x 400h x 600d tanks.

Now none of you guys have any excuses to not build a rack of your own of any size & shape, so get out there & setup MORE TANKS!!! lol

I have the space and I can borrow the tools...but I'm not sure if I can build this by myself.

I guess I also have to wait until Squiggs moves somewhere closer....

I'm thinking I might have to ask some of the builders working in my area atm what they do with any structural timber off cuts. Hopefully they throw them out and are happy to give them to me so I can cut some of the costs. I don't like my chances but I guess it's worth a try
