Great with tap to each tank, they can be switched off the system and isolated if there are issues. If you haven't already, check out Squiggles Rack and Tank setup thread, it's what started me dreaming of this setup.

Okay, update time.

Easter weekend saw me plumbing, filling tanks, emptying tanks and generally stuffing around.

Forgot to go to work today as I had to get the tanks to the stage I could test the plumbing. Here is where it's at...

Only the middle shelf is plumbed. Top rack tanks for emergency, or new projects! Bottom shelf tanks not plumbed so I can have different WPs for Tibee, cherries, natives?!

One of the main delays in getting to this stage is something Squiggle has been mentioning about these racks. With this weight, there is definitely a curve to the shelf. As I was filling the tanks, the tops almost touched each other while the bases were 5mm apart. Luckily I have 5 separate tanks so emptied, separated further, then refilled. If you are looking at Rack-it 1800mm shelves, maybe look at smaller tanks, this could be an issues with longer tanks.

Also, tested using a 100LPH pump and all went well, except two slightly loose bulkheads that are now sweet. Will be running a 2500LPH pump.

Also, using old four foot fluoro ballast to begin.

When you'd mentioned flexing in the shelves, I was thinking front to back. not end to end.

Was a stressful day Monday, thinking my tanks were poorly built. Wasn't until I stepped back and had another look that I realised the potential problem.

Very lucky I didn't do my usual rushing in!

Thanks Slin, Thankfully most of the planning and thought had been done by others more brilliant than I. Luckily I am a procrastinator so took my sweet time getting the wheels in motion, now I just cant wait to get some shrimp in. As I am only using a smaller pump it is taking awhile for the tanks to cycle, this should only take another week or so. The sump has been busy cycling for the last few weeks.Got some mosses tied off on the weekend to add to the tanks, will post some pics on the weekend.@Cipher - These racks have been good to me in the past, just being extra cautious with this setup as I don't want to have to restart it. They come in smaller lengths, 900mm, these would be sturdier with smaller tanks. KillieOrCory used these in his setup, see link below. Also check out the Shrimp Tank Journals area for more inspiration, it's what got me started, Especially Squiggles thread. Keep us posted on your plans.

Ok, so I have tied off some mosses, tested, tested and tested parameters, and finally put a few canaries in the rack!

 

All went well, so had a mass migration on Sunday.

Really cant put into words how awesome it is to now have everyone settled into the rack and doing well! Still pinching myself!

Soo, finally an update on the rack inhabitants.
 
Received some wonderful new shrimp from BB yesterday and have put them in with my Bluebolt juvies. It was funny watching the biggest bluebolt running around putting the new inhabitants in their place!!











Finally have some more beautiful TB's to add to the collection!

They have settled in and are eating well!! Will post more pics soon! Thanks Marcus!!!!
