journal my fluval edge

hi guys this is my first real shrimp tank its a fluval edge 23L its not the best planted tank but Im hoping the HC carpets the whole tank and I might change a few plants and its going to bbe stocked with yellow cherrys in a couple of weeks ( ill upload pics soon )

Cool, they're nice tanks. My edge is one of the original , so came with the halogen lights....had to upgrade to LED, as the lights were cooking my tank....not sure, if your current lighting would be ample to promote strong growth for HC .

hi mate my tank is an original tank to, with the halogen lights im going to fit a soda stream co2 and I have a 120watt led ( 20 blue 20 white 3 watts each) but im only using the white so 60watts

how do you find the LEDs ??

My LED replacement could be better, but for moss only growth, it's ample. Definitely the way to go though.

I love and hate these tanks, i think you will struggle to have the HC carpet, but im also keen to see you prove me wrong!

I have the EDGE 2 and ended up having an additional light placed over the front of the tank (i think this would ruin the aspect of the smaller EDGE though). Currently i have swapped the plants to lower light types and just run the extra one to try and combat algae growth.

The ONLY way I could grow HC was to get the most powerful light I can get my hands on base on the tank size, and CO2..... the HC went berserk, and grew too well and quickly ...... so I ripped it all up :-(
