Hey fellow members- I am just getting into shrimp and have enjoyed collecting a few types of cherries along the way. Then I saw king kongs and pandas.... I knew I needed some of those too.

Hope to someday get this type to breed as all my cherries are ripe.

see you around on the forums

best regards

Nils

So I started off with some cherries a while ago. What got me was the occasional offspring that had a bit of blue in it, it was only a hint and I thought I was imagining it...this happened from a brown wild looking specimen mixed in with my other so called higher grade cherries , since then this brown wild type has gone on to produce the most intense dark red and even black....

I have always had a fascination with mules and hybrids, it would have started out when I was a kid about age five with my first doves... I put wild turtle dove in my loft with my ring neck doves and let them breed. Well you guessed it I managed to create my very first hybrid. This later moved onto wild canaries x domesticated, then feral guppies x show guppies. Many years past and my hybrid streak was left to rest until endler guppies were introduced back into the hobby.

Maybe 5 or so years ago I saw my first endler in Australia.

I knew right away I would have a new project on my hands....

I have created many types now , all hybrid with guppy of course.

They all started off as throw out cull looks but with patience I have created something that is a sight to behold. I recently sold two pairs of these hybrids for $50 a pair ... Not bad when you can buy a endler for about $5

So moving on... I pretty much have a new direction with my endler program and we will see if it turns out how I plan and I will let you in on my secret ;) what the plan is is to put a half moon tail on them!

Turning the attention back on the shrimp, since I have all the colour cherries I can think of all mixed into one tank of fun I can't wait to see some of the rilli combinations that will hatch out soon , so friends it's time to to get into some fancy Tibee fun. Just need to collect some genetics.

"with genes , you are richer than you think!"

Top picture is a blue tiger, possibly the only one in Australia created by me. And bottom picture a rather nice Platinum Magenta Endler. The tiger needs more work let me take a picture of a yellow tiger that I bred with a Moscow guppy which resulted in a Metal head tiger Endler, the fish I have in mind has lovely tiger stripes on it ;)

Hey Nils' date=' welcome to SKF.[/quote']

Thanks fishmosy!

2014 sees me in doing very naughty things with my gobsmacking beaut endlers! It's on !

Cleared out all my breeders and added pure ATFG platinum ivory halfmoon and ATFG platinum firetail halfmoon virgins into my tank! The ATFG take about double the time to show their colour and potential. Since F1 crosses always turn out pretty ordinary we will need to wait to see some results of this cross.... I managed to get the swordtail trait to cross over on my first F1 last time I crosses endler with japan blue double sword. I'll let you in on another secret .... The quest for my own Pinto shrimp has begun with me collecting genetics from some members around here. It's all good fun!

Welcome to the forum Nils!!

Your endlers are amazing. I must admit I had a collection of ATFG guppyfish strains that had me hooked a couple of years back, around 7 tanks running. the genetic possibilities are immense. Especially with so many recessive genes. Great to see your results!

That's what keeps my interest piqued with shrimp is the possible phenotype outcomes, keep us all posted on your progress. Ask many questions and be sure to share pics of the strains you develop. Sounds like Tibees are perfect for your next challenge!

Enjoy!!
