underwater waterfall

Hi guys does anyone know how to make a sand waterfall like this one im interested in trying to make a new 4 x 2 x 2 tank simmilar to this im not sure what equipment to use to pump the sand.

If it's for a shrimp tank, I see potential for shrimp to get buried by the falling sand, or even sucked into the intake.

Not for shrimp i just love the look of it. I think ill use it for growing plants

Great concept, could go in a jungle style tank with some rainbows in there maybe?

It is not sand per se, iirc it is using filter floss being pulled apart and held down to look like a waterfall...

I've heard of people making them with under gravel filters modified for this use. They cut a hole into the undergravel part where the sand is dropping and the bubbles created by an airstone make an air-lift pump that sucks up water and sand.

They are an interesting thing, I'm not a big fan of them myself unless they really fit the scape of the tank though
