Black Earth premium PH

I just received a PH pen recently and I check my PH with my new tank which is cycling for 2 weeks. I am very surprise that the PH of black earth premium (bought from Dean) got Ph only 4.7 and in my current tank with Benibachi only 5.5. Is that too low for crystal shrimp?

If the tank is still in the cycling phase, pH will be lower than expected. Wait until it has completed cycling to see if pH increases/stabilises before determining pH of the substrate.

ok. Gonna wait to see how's going. Anyway, ph is 5.5 is find? or I have to raise it to nearly 6?

You hv to calaberate the ph pen very often to get the correct reading. For this reason, they are unpopular.
