Pinned topic in other Pets

G'day, I was just wondering if it was possible to have a pinned section in the other pets part of the forum dedicated to the other pets we have loved and lost. Another forum I am on has such a section called The Rainbow Bridge. It can be a very sad section but also inspiring and at times up lifting and even funny. It can really help being able to let your emotions go with fellow animal lovers rather than have people look at you oddly because in their eyes it was "only" a cat or dog. I am sure many of us have been in the terrible place of having a pet die too soon or have to be put down. Just an idea

I think that's an awesome idea, I recently lost my little princess & without the support of everyone here I know it would have been a lot harder than it was. I still miss her terribly & really hope that I never stop missing her but talking with everyone & sharing similar experiences made it a lot easier to deal with, thanks everyone. I think a section dedicated to this sort of thing will definitely be helpful to others experiencing the devastation of loosing a much loved pet. :encouragement:

Thank you for the support of this idea, Sadly I came to think of it because it looks like I will be losing my 16 1/2 year old dog, we raced her to the vets last night around midnight and are just waiting for a phone call from them this morning to tell us the news of how she went and the most likely outcome if she is still alive. There is a poem online dedicated to the death of a pet called The Rainbow Bridge and it could be a good first topic in such a section.

Yeah that's a gorgeous poem, when we got missy cremated they gave us a copy of it laminated with her paw print on it, very cool! :encouragement: I hope everything works out for you & your pup, it's always hard even when you know what's going to happen.

The pets we have and lost are like family and we often reminisce about them at home. When we lost the last oldie my husband steadfastly refused to have anymore dogs. At night he often still stepped over old Butch sleeping in the doorway many years after Butch had passed away, we now have two youngsters and "Butch" rarely comes to visit now as hubby says Butch gave him the ok for the new ones. My husband isn't a believer in supernatural but is adamant about this. I think a sticky for this would be lovely:encouragement:
