Opening up SKF

I know I'm only new here but this is the best forum I've found and it being private is the best thing about it . The info and interaction here is the best I've found ( and one of the most secure) going public would ruin all that . If people don't want to pay a piddly $12.50 to get some of the best advice and service also some of the best quality shrimp then bugger them . I mean $12.50 won't break the bank and if it does then maybe they shouldn't be here . As I said I'm only new here but this us the best forum for info and help there is and going public would ruin it I RECKON . So I say keep it private so it will be more peaceful and pleasant . Graeme on the a life forum always says and quickly reminds members that aquis is present and always watching ready to gather evidence.

Cant really talk about shrimps or nice rare plants on there without being paranoid.

I like that this is a private forum that has its controls to boot off the suspicious people who dont have the same interests as us hobbyist.

I am in 2 minds on this one but i have to say this IF you think a private forum will solve this "aquis is present and always watching ready to gather evidence" think again they could already be in this forum like any forum or fb group etc why do you think there a huge warning to members up the top of this page "This is just a warning to all members that "Marimo ball & Marimo Moss" are illegal imports and a protected species in Japan, as such anyone buying, selling, trading, showing photos of this species will have there threads removed & deleted... If you have this Species in your possession you are advised to Contact AQIS for the safe removal and quarantine of it. failing to do so may end up in loss of tank inhabitants and legal action being taken by Aqis.. this topic is not open for discussion on SKF.." AS there NO WAY to be sure and those who think they are safe just cause it is private need to think again as $12.50 is chicken feed to a govt dept..... PS not from aqis here but just putting it out there just cause something is private does not mean it is at times and people sometimes get a false feeling :) hence DEANS nice little hint up the top of every page in the forum....

I agree with everyone that this is a great forum and 1 of a kind, and being private with the screening in place of new members has definitely worked to

all our advantage buy helping to make this place what it is..

So as the majority so far have said to stay private, then that's what we shall do :)
