holy sh!t BB, that is stunning! I've got a cull tank you can put her in, 1st dibs, 1st dibs, 1st dibs! :applause:

I've been adding Mg & she has coloured up very well, or so I thought till I saw your cull pic but she has lost a bit of her colour in the last day or two cause I think she is about to moult & berry, she has a nice saddle that you can only see in the right light. :encouragement:

Marcus that bb is amazing!! Love the markings/pattern on her back. I think she would benefit from a relocation to Victoria!! Happy to help!! :)

That is one of the best looking shrimp I'v ever seen! Can't believe how they can change colour like that. It's awesome!

You could probably grade that as a shadow mosura, definitely not bad for a cull BB :encouragement:

Tanks full of Tibee's so hopefully the shrimplets colour/patterns will be something new and interesting. I have a few mosura headed BB, but haven't been focusing on patterns at all, just colour and intensity....

Thanks for all the comments... May have to upgrade her to the presidential suit. :-)

Woke up this morning' date=' and noticed in my "Mongrel/Cull Tank", this spectacular BB in her full vibrance.......she was condemned to this tank 3-4 weeks ago, as she had mediocre head colour, and only a bluish tinge body..... BUT look at her 2day !

Ok, so after raising the TDS to 160, the GH to 5 & adding more magnesium I think my girl is starting to show her true colours, definitely a massive change :victorious:

Ahhh, that's much better. Well done Squiggles.

Newbreed, just watch the amount of magnesium.... i.e. Ca : Mg ratio etc... Too much magnesium, and an imbalance to the ratio will cause a premature death :-(

Ok' date=' so I want to find out why my BB have lost their blue. The system is about 700L & I add about a teaspoon of mineral powder every week or two to the sump & about the same of Epsom salts to the auto waterchange tank, the rest of my WP are below

PH - 5.7

GH - 4

KH - 0

Ca - 20ppm

TDS - 110

Nitrate - 0

Temp - 23

They are all breeding quite well & I have about 8 berried girls in the system at the moment & that's a combination of CRS, CBS, BB, mischlings. All the others are showing great colour just not the TB's :victorious:[/quote']

I know right, even the difference between the last two shots is amazing & that's only a TDS difference of about 10ppm, just goes to show you how important the correct WP are & the fine line between good & bad for shrimp. :victorious:

      It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

      I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.

      Yes it’s super accurate to position where I want now and stay there- I am satisfied.  All the fish and shrimpers are doing excellent! Coming up on 4 years running!

      You must be pleased with that, it looks better and is much more robust and less likely to damage or leaks! The tank looks very natural now it has been running for a time. I see the ember tetras, how are the blue shrimp doing, I see a few? The cat and dog look very content and unimpressed, lol.
