I would not recommend the one that is attached to the canitser filter as they are probably just UV clarifiers not steralisers...why not look at our sponsors Aquotix online they have some reasonably priced ones that BB (Marcus) uses and seems to like. I have gone broke and bought a De Bary's one (quite expensive) but did not want to risk any losses of shrimp like that again.

I agree with you bro..I did say to wash everything that shared the tanks water that includes nets...

Sorry hoang your 1ft has other shrimp or is it a new tank you have cycled? i thought it was a new cycled tank with no inhabitants...It may be a gamble to move the shrimp from problem tank into a tank with shrimp with no issues...

I am looking their website but didnt know which one to choose from? There are 2 type isnt it? 1 is connect with the external filter, the other include the pump inside it?

i still ot get the confirmatin abt adding bacteria :(

I wouldn't mix your problem shrimps with your healthy shrimps.

How can I move them without using the water from my current tank? How can I put them into new water prevent water shock?:(

Adding live bacteria will promote the growth of good bacteria at good numbers that will help keep disease away. So you have a 1ft that has other shrimp then I would go with Dean's Advice and add more carbon/purigen/macropore, clean out your canister with old water from the other tank that has no problems, get a UV the one that connects to your canister is good, add live bacteria and do small daily water changes until you notice it get better.

@chi, explain to him not all uv are created equal. Those cheap one sell as

"uv sterilizer" only clear the water by killing the algae in the water but it doesn't kill bacteria.

Not sure why no one has suggest this but here goes...

1. Gravel vac is fine, you just need to do it properly which is by adding PRIME in your tank before you do the vac and not to do the whole tank at one. I do it all the time now and my tank clouds up and no deaths. PRIME will bind ammonia for 48 hours during that time, it is in non toxic for and will give time for the bacteria in your tank to eat it all up :)

2. If you are low on bacteria in your tank by seachem STABILITY ($15-20) or Mosura BT-9 ($35) or benibachi active water ($20), I've used all 3

If you have bacteria infection, your shrimps will have signs of infection, if they look fine when dead without dark spots or completely white then it is unlikely.

When the shrimp dead, I found 1-2 have a dark spot in their head and some dead normal (only losing with color). It mean that I got bad bacteria isnt it?

If it looks like that then you have the disease in your tank which would be bad because it could be in your water too.

You should take some pictures of the dead shrimp when they die.

Also you said you have worms in your tank, are they 1cm+?. Turn on your light in the middle of the night and take a picture. Apparently planaria have toxic slim that can kill shrimps

Luckily, it's not like that. It look like shrimp waste but more black in their head. So it might not because bad bacteria.

After read ur comment, I realize that I NEVER put any more stability since my tank has been cycled 4 month ago. I though that it's only for tank cycling. Just dose 1.2 cap into the tank.

the worm is not planaria, it's look like earth worm. But I still see a few planaria existing in my tank.
