Hmmm, tempting but trying to limit tank numbers in anticipation of summer.

Don't want to have to buy too many chillers!

So, I had to be away from home for 7 days for work, :cower:, but came home to no losses and everyone seeming quite happy!! :victorious:

The only thing was a stringy algae that had decided to start thriving. I had noticed it starting to grow and thought not much of it, but it started to reach out to my other plants and it made me concerned my parameters were out.

I used the link in the following thread, http://www.shrimpkeepersforum.com/forum/showthread.php/840-WTF-is-this-and-how-to-get-rid-of-it-lol , and found it was Rhizoclonium.

Thankfully had a shrimp/fish tank day allowed by the better half so decided a clean and 15% water change were in order.

All shrimp removed, 15% water change, added salty shrimp, cleaned all signs of Rhizo, reheated and reacclimatised residents and all are settled back in.

Parameters

Temp 21c

PH 6

KH 6 (?)

GH 6 (?)

Ammonia 0

Nitrates 0

Nitrite 0

Took the time to try and make some Moss Balls using bioballs.

One with Peacock Moss

post-3161-139909854754_thumb.jpg

One with Subwassertang

post-3161-139909854757_thumb.jpg

And one with Peacock Moss, Java Fern, Windelev Java Fern. Bit of a weird mix, left overs!!

They look kind rubbish now but will see how they fare in a few months.

Woohoo!!!

Now I understand the policy of photos or it didn't happen!!! Well guess what (didn't) happen!!

Got home this afternoon and luckily my tank lights were on (they are on timers)! Looked into my rilli tank, which has masses of shrimplets and spotted one of my Snow Whites looking a little rounded!! On closer inspection, we have a berried mumma to be!!!

Pics in a couple of days but I just had to share!!! So exciting!!! :)

Excellent I know what it's like to go for months with no berried girls so can understand your excitement. I'm over the moon that I have finally got some saddled girls -no berried ones but a saddle is a good start. Good luck no doubt now you have one the others will start too.

Great photos ' date=' you are getting quite a nice collection there, thanks for sharing![/quote']Yes, the collection has grown exponentially. Time to now start to focus on growing and breeding the beautiful ones I have. Will now only buy to increase the size of each of the colonies. I have a massive total of three tanks!!I have two x Three footers divided in half and one 45x35x35 cube. Crystals and Cherry sharing each section.Am considering setting up my four footer for the cherry strains and then leave the three footers just to crystals and BB's. All are in TB Water Parameters at the moment.I also have a bunnings rack with seven two footers I may need to get started up for breeding programs and separating different generations!!Options, options, options.....
