I was going to wait until more progress was made on this, before posting but here are some setup shots of my new shrimp house in the making.

Old tank ready to be reused

Can't be bothered painting so using a basic background

After reading about this in another thread here, decided to use a divider that also filters. Also, wanted a non permanent solution, should needs change.

Looking good so far , one question do you have to clean the sponge ? If so how do you clean it when it's the divider ?

Shouldn't have to clean it for a couple of years. Will have the canister doing most of the major work and not a great bioload from running shrimp only.

They can be removed and banged against a wall to remove any excess grime. Or like any sponge, could also just be squeezed out in tank water to remove any major buildup.

Will keep the sections lightly planted so can remove shrimp to breeding nets before removing the walls. Will be divided into three sections.

Sweet , thanks for the info just thought it would need cleaning more often and become a headache.

Yes I took mine out because of the need to eventually take it out for cleaning but I guess catching the shrimp out isn't too much bother really:)

Spent a couple of hours chasing shrimp lets in one of my other tanks that I have divided. Have both days on most weekends to play, so shouldn't be too annoying. (please remind me I said that if I moan in the future) :)

The 2nd pic of the BB looks a tad translucent, did she just moult ? You'll be amaze how much she'll colour up, espcailly when she's berried ! Good luck !

No moulting yet. Is probably the strong lighting and angle!!

Am looking forward to watching them grow and change. Thanks again mate.

Update pics of one of the blue bolts. Just to show how deep the blue has become. Pretty low quality pics but you get the idea!! Thanks again Marcus!
