No lids would be contributing greatly to the evaporation, that's still a lot though, it's just under 10%, your TDS would be fluctuating massively :dejection:

Tds is 200 so 10% will only be 220 so not that big of a deal I'd say

i had Tds of 900 in my cherry tank and 500 in a low grade crs tank and they did fine lol

If you've had success doing this then all good but I was just thinking that a change of that much every week would cause continual stress in the shrimp. I usually do a WC when the TDS raises 5ppm. :encouragement:
