Welcome to the forum les.

As loach said the BSS section is a premium feature of the forum, However at only $12.50 per year it's very affordable and well worth the price. Plus it helps to keep and maintain a forum like this that allows Shrimp keepers to Information, tips, tricks and even a shrimp or two.

Good luck with your new shrimp, Read as much as you can as there is so much and always more to know about Shrimps.

Welcome aboard Les, Mate I think you should start your shrimp career by keeping cherry shrimp first then after 12 months or so graduate to the harder to keep varieties that need specialist care like CRS/CBS. Cherries come in a number of colour varieties and ranging in price from around 50c for the red cherry to a few hundred dollars for the rare colours. They are very hardy and are a lot easier on the pocket. Cut your teeth on these and you will not get disalusioned like many others, and be paitent, you will soon find your favourites.

Welcome Les!

Start slow with shrimp and before you know it you will have a new found obsession. It's hard to not get swept up with all the beautiful varieties. And as others have mentioned, get premium membership to support a great new forum.

Cheers,

D

welcome to SKF, sorry to here about your unscrupulous seller problems.... it's a shame when people new to the hobby have a tainted start, best of luck in the future with shrimp keeping!

G'Day _les_, there's so many conflicting advise/experience in google, best to get your info/advise from a forum like this. Establishing and setting up your tank correctly from the start is ideal, as there's less pain and you can then focus and enjoy keeping/breeding them a lot more.

Share with us your current tank size, setup (Filter...etc), plans, and I'm sure the members here will fwd great advise.

Welcome to SKF.
