Hi

could someone give me some idea how to use Mironecton powder mineral for shrimp please.

My tank is aquatopia 15 litre - do i use this powder with every water change?

I have 2 cherry that are "berried" - hope to see little ones - will this powder help?

Advice most appreciated.

For a 15lt, a pinch of the mineral powder per water change would be beneficial per WC. Do you use salty shrimp, and/or other minerals ? GH Booster etc.... ?

Depending on your WP too..... TDS, KH, GH....

Thanks Bluebolts - been just using salt and water treatment . Not up to speed with all the other letters - still doing a lot of reading on web.

do u have other shrimp than cherries? cos in all honesty ur probably just wasting good money buying stuff like this for them. they really need no help at all. its more the CRS that need these more specialised products. if u have these also than what BB said was correct. a tiny pinch would suffice. yeah do it every WC but honestly for cherries it wont make a difference.. keep reasonable water conditions with lots of moss, plants a few hiding spots and ur away!! by Xmas u'll have at least 20 berried girls n 100+ shrimplets. with most things.. stability is the key even if ur water is different to others. if their breeding their happy. if u do any changes do them slowly over time (many use drip method for best results) and in no time u'll find urself addicted to shrimp :)

what u need is something to feed ur little ones when they arrive. if u have the almond leaf it is perfect to put a week before u think they'll pop. as the leaf softens they start eating it (they are quite common and used by most). biozyme seems the best shrimplet food so far and is recommended by just about everyone. its so small its powdered food for shrimps especially shrimplets. again its a CRS product but useful on all shrimp i'd say.

all in all i dont think the mironecton powder would really help with shrimplet survival.. especially if u only have cherries. it might do but there are more specialised products out there for that. biozyme being one of them.

learn about total dissolved solids (TDS) and ur half way there. really good info found on this site. there are many good right ups especially from guys like Bluebolts and Dean.

hope any of this helps u and ur soon to be shrimplets.

goodluck! :)
