HELP - loosing shrimp after moulting

MIX02U

Recommended Posts

I have lost quite a few shrimp over the last week and I'm 99% sure its straight after moulting. I'm stressing out BIG TIME :cower:

Water params are:

Temp = 22

pH = 6.9 - a little higher than i would like but am reducing it slowly with RO

GH = 4

EC = 260

Ammonia = 0

Nitrite = 0

Nitrate = 2

Water is pure RO remineralised with Salty Shrimp.

Currently running canister filters with Benabachi Red Bee Balls inside.

I'm still pretty new but things look fine to me.

Help please!!!!

All your WP looks fine....nitrate 2 ? what's the test kit ? or conversion ? Besides WP, shrimps do need areas to hide/rest, as they will get harassed by other shrimps.....do you have lots of areas/caves for them ? pic of your tank may help...... I personally target a GH of 5, but theoretically, 4 is good.

Cheers Marcus.

API test kit Nitrate 2ppm

I would like to get my GH to 5 but it seems to push EC above 250

Plenty of places to hide - caves, plants, driftwood. Would post pics but currently rebuilding a crashed PC

In this case GH 5 is probably more important then your EC being slightly higher.....if the concern persist, it's worth trying, thus determining whether that is the issue for your tank.... oh, 2ppm is awesome, presume it's just a darker shade of yellow Love to see pic of your tank ?
