Question about Oxydator solution

Hey All,

Just a quick question, does anyone know what concentration of H2O2 the Sochting Oxydator solution is & is there a way to make up your own solution? If so, how effective is it compared to the Sochting solution? :encouragement:

The formula/mix on the bossaquaria website and aquotix website....depedns on the H202 concentration i.e. 35% ....

Thanks BB, those are the pages I was looking for :encouragement: What about using the 6% H2O2 you get from the chemist, would that work?

Have not used those, and unsure whether they're food grade. Economically buying a 35% or 50% H202 makes the formula cheap !

Hmmmm, you make a good point BB, as always. :encouragement: Now the $64000 question, where's the best place to get it from?

You are off your rocker at the moment aren't you, hahaha :victorious: Sounds like the shoulder surgery went well :encouragement:

In the links that BB posted, it tells you how to make 6% solution from 50%, so a liter would last a long time :congratulatory:

hi guys, just be sure to only use food grade 35% H2O2!!!!!!!!!!!

the premixed solutions of 6%, 3% etc have binding and stabilization agents in them and are not proven to be safe for your aquarium.

This information is direct from the manufacturer.

I'm all good for the moment, I've got about 3-4weeks worth left but I will have to do something about it soon. I hate leaving it till the last minute, been caught out too many times before :encouragement:

I'd personally rather buy refills from dean than mess with other solutions to save a few bucks.

Why risk the life of a few hundred bucks of shrimps an plants and the health of your tank for a few dollars ?
