My new rack & tanks

Now I'm tossing up whether to drill an extra hole or leave it as is & work something out that way' date=' decisions, decisions, doh!:cower:[/quote']

My advise is to decide and go for the best setup for filtration and maintenance... so if an additional hole is going to give you that, there's really no decisions to be made.... once you get breeding rack, multiple tanksssssss etc..... simplicity, and efficiency is the way to go.....more time for selective breeding, and admiration of your shrimps...

Yeah I think it has to be a bit deeper than that' date=' I'm not having plants but I want to have a ph of about 5.6-6 so I think I'm going to need between 30-50mm deep, I will have to consult with the gurus for a more definite depth :encouragement:[/quote']

I'd say 60-70mm. My 26 lt is at 80mm, and gives me a PH of 5-5.5...approx. 5.5-6 after 12+months. (Benibachi)

60-70mm huh? That's what I was worried about, lol. :encouragement: Yeah I'm going to have to bite the bullet & drill the holes needed, the existing hole is in the 2ft face so if I wast to use the turned sideways I'm going to have to block that hole & drill two new ones in the side face :encouragement: that will be the simplest solution for the best result, thanks BB :victorious:

Ok I have an update, today I picked up my pallet rack & set it up in the shrimp room. I also started drilling the tanks for the airlines & bulkheads :victorious:

I used a 2L bottle with a hole in it to supply water while drilling the holes :encouragement:

image-74_zpsd034f00b.jpg

I drilled a hole in the top as there is a 60 boarder around the whole to of the tank & this was the best way to get an airline in while still having tight fitting lids :encouragement:

One tank down, ten to go :encouragement:

Thanks guys, yeah I'm preventing every kind of escape, I'm going to seal the airline with a piece of gaffa tape, yes gaffa tape is a large percentage of my toolbox, lol :encouragement: My toolbox has two thing in it, WD40 for things that don't move but are supposed to & gaffa tape for thing that move & aren't supposed to, hahaha :smiley_simmons:

It's 2100H x 2600L x 600D & it can hold 2ton per shelf, not that I'll be putting that much on it :encouragement:

Ok so I've drilled all 30 holes, I think I've gone deaf though, lol, only one mishap drilling an airline hole but nothing I couldn't fix :encouragement: Just waiting for the bulkheads & strainers I ordered to come in & silicone in the step divider for the substrate :victorious:
