Its jsut sad there is more negative in the world then there is positive. so this is definately a good place to be able to come and chat to like minded people without the fear of being scammed or ripped off.

Mini's are such cool cars i am not a fan of the new ones though except from the taco meters which i saw in one a couple of years ago. Definately got nothin on the old ones tho. I dont think i would fit in one though cause i am 6ft 3 and a bit lol

i would be like this

Funnily enough im 6'2 and find the Mini pretty comfy for leg room (the backs another story LOL).The thing that always cracks me up is the front seats pivot from the front to allow people fold them forward to get in the back, but they have no anchor point at the rear so when you hit the brakes hard the back of the seats lifts about 100mm then slams down. The look on passengers faces the first time is classic.

RIGHT! Every last one of you is in trouble! I have now spent nearly an entire day on this forum (some of us have a business to run lol) and have gone from wanting some CRS and maybe some CBS. To absolutely needing King Kongs and Royal Blue Tigers and setups to support them.So much good information on this site. Thanks All

Jeez that was quick dude, the addiction hits hard & fast but I think that's a new record, I think you are now a true shrimpoholic & yeah KK's are awesome, check out the extreme KK's that sold a couple of weeks ago, number 20 in the thread I've linked below, stunning! :victorious:

I advise you gain some experience with the cherries, crs/cbs before setting your sights on the more $$$ shrimp as you will only be heading for heartbreak city (not to mention the $$$ wasted) if you do not have the knowledge/experience to keep them.

I was just having a bit of a joke;-), but I agree wholeheartedly. Really enjoying my Cherrys at the moment. But with this new tank 600x300x480 im looking at some CRS or the other I am considering are the red nose Australian shrimp with native plants and substrate. Would this be a natural progression? or should I get the CRS?

That sounds fantastic. I am having the basic plans drawn at the moment for the extension but when it gets to final approval I would love to speak to you about the specific requirements of a fish room and tank construction and fitment. I can build it, I just need to know what it is.lol

Welcome above, and yes SKF is not necessarily for the faint hearted. Some of the shrimp are absolutely gorgeous and your wallet may not

always love you for it. Suspect you may be trading one addiction for another, but its a good one! Very relaxing

It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.

Hi Guys,  Does anyone know where to buy PRL shrimps in WA, not the CRS please. Thanks Regards

Yes it’s super accurate to position where I want now and stay there- I am satisfied.  All the fish and shrimpers are doing excellent! Coming up on 4 years running!

You must be pleased with that, it looks better and is much more robust and less likely to damage or leaks! The tank looks very natural now it has been running for a time. I see the ember tetras, how are the blue shrimp doing, I see a few? The cat and dog look very content and unimpressed, lol.
