Dechlorinators

Can anyone recommend me a dechlorinator unit that I can just plug into a garden hose? It's for planted tanks so I'm not after the fancy RO units.

Changing water via buckets has long lost its appeal

If its just plants & fish then i just stick the hose in & add a double dose of Prime as I start filling, but that's just me & I'm lazy like that with fish :encouragement:

I have a 4' tank close to my laundry. When I drain water its straight to outside. When I fill it's from the laundry tap straight into the tank after I chuck in some prime. My tank has riffles, cherries, DAS, DRN, snails and fish.

The trick is to slowly fill so that the temp doesn't swing too fast/much. No deaths to date.

To add to that if you are using RO water do you still need to use prime type products? I haven't been because I thought RO was pure

No need to use any other products except adding minerals (i.e. salty shrimp) to "balance off you TDS/Ec". With top ups, it's 100% RO water with a squirt of shrimp water ..... Oooooo, another secret.:friendly_wink:

Bossaquaria sells a benibachi product called shrimp water. Have always used it, from Day 1, as it was recommended to me by a BB specialist breeder from overseas ! Not 100% sure of its effectiveness, but its my insurance policy !
