Well gumtree doesn't offer a wealth of information like this forum for a start. If you would've used your first post to introduce yourself rather than sell something, you would have found out that the forum opens up as you post, for free. This helps stop spammers, hawkers and scammers and helps to make this the brilliant community that it is.

Plus nobody is out to scare you. Ineke just politely let you know the rules.

Premium membership only opens the classified & auction threads, as torface mentioned, most of the forum opens up to you the more you post. Nobody is forcing you to pay any money but if you want to buy/sell or give anything away then premium membership is the option. We have plenty of members who aren't premium members & they are very happy with the forum

Another thing, as was mentioned earlier too, Ineke just told you the forum rules, nobody mentioned anything about the law so unless you are doing something wrong you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Don't get me started about Dumbtree, I saw a tilapia for sale on gumtree the other day, that doesn't mean it's legal.

If you don't want to be part of this amazing community all you have to do is PM SKFadmin & ask them to delete you account :encouragement:

This is the 2nd time this week a NEW person has ridiculed SKF structure, without knowing anything....Stephen & Co, you're seriously embarrassing yourself again ! LOL.....

Yes yes SKF doesn't give out free anything or have anything to offer so please do not join! Gives us 1000+ legit members a better chance for freebies and winning comps! Thank you for that!

You can't say that for sure, I would hope by now they weren't that stupid, or at least have learnt a lesson. If not then there's no hope at all.

But what this person shows though is they're only looking to sell, and sell something that's illegal. Plus they've provided their phone number,

everything that AQIS requires, they couldn't have made it any easier. From a community perspective though it also shows the lack of interest,

and I'd say another fly-by-nighter. Hopefully that's the last we of them, knobs!

BB you trying to stir up the substrate again! LOL! I love it! Trouble maker!

Well said indeed .... Might as well be selling shoes if all they want to do is spam their wares with no positive input to such a giving community of like minded people.

.... and I still don't know how this ended up on MY introduction thread .. ... is there a milestone for most non-related posts on a thread ... hahaha.

My parents have an aquarium, so I don't know if this will help, but still want to leave a suggestion. They also liked the idea of installing a light strip in it, so they started looking on amazon. I don't know what went wrong, but it broke on the fifth day of use. I think it was a cheap Chinese thing (although the website told me it was waterproof and durable). They asked me for help finding a better option, and I advised them of the smart LED multi-color light strips I used in my car. Being pretty skeptical, my dad still decided to try them. They have been working fine for a month now and don't even flicker. Mom says the fish are happy, lol. I hope my comment was helpful

It's not looking good. Quarantine any shrimp showing Necrosis, as it can be infectious. Tell us what your water parameters are, and do a heavy water change after that. Increase surface agitation to get more oxygen into the water. A bit of H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) into the water to increase oxygen might also help the shrimps that have not yet contracted this.

Sorry to see you have a problem. Try reading the section on 'muscular necrosis' in the below section. You will need to scroll down through it until you see the bold red heading of that description (it is quite a large article covering many problems etc, it is about the 5th item on the first page);   I don't have any personal experience of this but do ask any questions as someone may be able to help. A bit more general info may also  help, your setup, number of shrimps, how long you have had the shrimps, any water parameters you may have etc?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here had any first-hand information on these particular pictures. It describes exactly what a few of my shrimp have. The second picture is spot on and most accurate. Thanks

#4 looks almost like a juvenile female to me, just looking at the abdomen in the top left image, but definitely looks more male in the other two images. The colour suggests it is an adult though, and it’s lacking a clear  so Simon is probably right in thinking it is male, that top left image is just confusing me a bit. If you’re going to get a female, to be sure, make sure it’s got an obvious yellow saddle. That’ll help you know it’s mature as well.
