So its pretty much done now guys, its just the patience of the tank doing its cycle now and looking into getting some new mosses. All i'm waiting on now is the doors to hide the lights and piping above each tank.

I'm so with you DG, I'm sitting here shivering &sweating at the same time, aarrrggghhhh!!! Awesome setup dude, I'm doing the exact same but two 5ft tanks split into five 1ft sections & a custom 4ft sump. How much soil did you end up using in each tank? :encouragement:

Is a killer hey Squiggle, Sitting here watching big red SOLD signs popping up on all the ones im drooling over is devastating hahaha but congrats to everyone who scored these awesome shrimp!!!

I basically PM dean ans said "ok what do i need" and purchased what he recommended and im glad i did as the bigger the bed the better the water parameters each tank is 3ftx1.5ft ground cover and i used 6 bags in each tank. t gives me an 8-9cm bed which dean said is close to his one. i used 1.5 packets of mineral powder in each 3ft tank so half a pack per section. inj total i used 12bags of benibachi and 3 packs of mineral powder i also have 30 bee balls and 2lts of shrimp active, 2 packs of bee speed super enzyme and 6 small oxydators ready to go!!! All i need now is shrimp hahah.

if all goes well with this cabinet im going to make another cabinet with 2 custom 8x1.5x1ft high with 10 .8ft sections each tank giving me 20 sections total, my chiller is Hailea 500a so its good for 1200L then ill make a 6ft sump similar to the one i have but obviously much bigger sections..

That new setup sounds insane dude, I'm going to have 10 sections when my setup is done, breeders in the top & shrimplets in the bottom, I'm so excited to get it started, give it about 6-8weeks & I'll be ready for water & the cycle will be under way :encouragement: Dont worry, there will be a thread for the build :smiley_simmons:

It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.

Hi Guys,  Does anyone know where to buy PRL shrimps in WA, not the CRS please. Thanks Regards

Yes it’s super accurate to position where I want now and stay there- I am satisfied.  All the fish and shrimpers are doing excellent! Coming up on 4 years running!

You must be pleased with that, it looks better and is much more robust and less likely to damage or leaks! The tank looks very natural now it has been running for a time. I see the ember tetras, how are the blue shrimp doing, I see a few? The cat and dog look very content and unimpressed, lol.
