Just wondering whether anyone has breed or X bred the wild form (clear, with tiger'ish stripes) cherry, and what the results were ? Just curious

I have not but wow that cherry looks very cool! would be fantastic to breed some tiger stripes into the conman colors we are working with atm.

This is a shrimp from a Yellow male x Red female cherry. I think it's a cherry, unless it is a chameleon. The black one on the right is a chameleon.

If it is a cherry, than Yellow x Red = wild type- generations of selective colour breeding gone.

I actually have a female that is very similar to the shrimp pictured, she came from a cross between a black male cherry and a dark red female. I think I also have a couple of younger males with her now. I am just waiting for them all to be old enough to breed and then see if their offspring are similar or other colours start emerging.

One thing I will say for them is that they are almost impossible to spy in even a small tank, their cammo is really good.

Here are a couple of pictures of my similar to wild type shrimp

I will apologise first up for the amount of snail crap in the tank, I have a losing battle with snails in that tank and I am loath to have another carrot disaster in the tank.

If you can;t spot this one its blending in with the snail crap to the left of the pale clump of food

Same shrimp different angle

And again same shrimp just closer and it moved a bit

There is a large ready to breed female in the tank somewhere but she wouldn't show herself

It's absolutely fantastic to see so many members having a go with the cherry variants. Interesting to see the results of the shrimplets etc.... Keep em coming..

Squish with tweezers and feed them to the shrimp. Dont feed the shrimp anything else so they eat the squished snails.
