Great vid and thanks for sharing...... I need that sort of graphic reminder to really look at my tanks.... Used to grow mosses in my ponds and then transfer them to my tanks for the extra biofilm/algae.... But not anymore !

How do they get into the tank?

Cheers

Ineke:encouragement:

They are evil little f**kers' date=' I had a dragonfly lay them directly in my tank, we had a dragonfly in the house one day & then it disappeared, a week later I found it dead in the airline for one of my tanks & about 50 larvae in the tank, I collected them in a jar to take down my LFS & in the morning only one of them still had a head, brutal!

I fly out in 2 days 24 days of not seeing my shrimp- hanging to see my shrimp tank. My girlfriend says that there are tiny shrimplets, some all white (snow whites babies) some with red head only!

I've got so much stock now in this 2foot divided tank that I have been thinking that I need another 2ft divided tank for insurance just incase something goes wrong and I don't want to loose thousands of dollars worth of stock.

My tank sits on a 4ft buffet/stand. It holds my 2ft divided and also my 1ft cube. I am thinking of relocating the 1ft cube and putting another 2ft divided to share the same stand.

I do love the nano fish that are in the cube. Maybe I could devote one division to the fishies and 2 divisions for the shrimp. If I do this all I need to do is get a tank made up ($100) and buy 2 bags of Benibachi soil ($110). I have the rest of the stuff.

Biggest challenge is to convince my girlfriend to allow me to do this as it is her apartment where my tanks are. :sour:

Lose the 1ft cube and get another 2ft divided built?

2ft is easier to move if needed. I dont have a pernament home. That 1 4ft will have the same problem as 1 tank holding thousands worth of stock. 2 seperate systems are better in case one goes bang! :)

Same size tank. Just 40cm high instead of 30cm high. The buffet table that the tank sits on is 120cm long so it will fit another 2ft tank.

Im going to rehouse the galaxy rasboras and pygmy corys into one of the new divisions.

With so much stock another seperate running tank system is neccessary as insurance against a tank crash.

So now Im looking for a new tank to be made.

Current tank is 60x40x30. The new one will be 60x40x40.

And after a trim- I'm going to in future distribute the plants into the new 2ft I'm planning. The fish will be rehoused in one of the divisions.

I also tore out alot of the excess moss, needle leaf java fern, normal java fern, etc out so I could see the shrimp more.
