Ah OK. Is there a minimum count or something to get to see the rest of the forum? Just that I'm naturally quite shy (like my shrimps) and dont tend to post much after I join a forum.

Gino, yes I got pics of some of my CRS and RCS, but not sure how to post pictures.

The post rule is designed to encourage people to actively participate in the forum. I'd highly encourage you to keep posting even after the forum is open to you, even just to show off pics of your tanks or shrimp.

I find uploading them from photo bucket easiest. As its just a matter of copying and pasting the code they supply across :)

Woohoo.. I can see the native shrimp forum, and the wipe your chin forum...

Are there more forums available to free users? Kind of low on funds after splushing out for CRS. :(

RCS... I heard there are grades for RCS too?

Another RCS. All my females are these colour. So proud of them.

These RCS are great!!

We had 43 degree temps the other week and these guys survived without any cooling.

And after I became a shrimpaholic, I got these:

Baby CRS. Is this little fella a A grade or S grade? I bought a mixed pack of A's and S's

And to be honest, I cant tell which is which.

Nice looking shrimp Kaichaina, I am too new at this to be able to offer any thoughts on grading. I have 8 females that look just like your girls really nice and red.

Cheers

Yet another dishonest showing from a SS moderator ! The forum is just oozing with dishonesty and deception......really shameful and disgusting when they're spreading all kinds of rumours, proclaiming their innocence without any proof, fact or response (cause they cant't) ....facts are facts, the truth is the truth.... SS needs to realise that people are not stupid and they can lie, cheat and trick us once, but not twice.......said it before, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Absolutely sick and tired that there's a part of our hobby that believes these type of deceptions and dishonesty is OK. Why members frequent that website knowing the description is from the head to the mods is beyond me.... Let's stop encouraging this behaviour and focus on our hobby.....

Thanks SKFadmin for picking this up....reading back at my reply and others, it does make us look fooled ! Enough I'd say !

It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.

Hi Guys,  Does anyone know where to buy PRL shrimps in WA, not the CRS please. Thanks Regards

Yes it’s super accurate to position where I want now and stay there- I am satisfied.  All the fish and shrimpers are doing excellent! Coming up on 4 years running!

You must be pleased with that, it looks better and is much more robust and less likely to damage or leaks! The tank looks very natural now it has been running for a time. I see the ember tetras, how are the blue shrimp doing, I see a few? The cat and dog look very content and unimpressed, lol.
