Hi Bailey, the only things I would change on the sump is I would add a drip tray where the water comes from the tank. This has two advantages. The first is it spreads the water flow over the whole media bed so you don't get deadspots which will create nitrate pockets and you can have a sheet of dacron to polish the water.

The second would be to lower the height of your baffles from 350 down to 300 to allow more room for overflow from the tanks when the pump isn't running and guaranteed no floods.

Hi Mate,

I don't know if some one said so or not, but ditch the 90 elbows and put on T pieces.

The reason is IF they air lock and they do some times your tanks will over flow, elbows flow 30 % better but are dangerous for the overflow reason, Ts will not lock up and if you extend them with Directors above the tank height NO problems.

You will get people say no trouble with 90s, yes at low flow rates, high rates are dangerous.

Just to let you know where my experience come from, I have built 20+ systems for myself and for shops when I worked for Bay Fish, under direction of a very good builder.

Yes bob 19 mm 20mm this is my first like this but my first one was strictly PVC what dramas I had with that lol
