Female losing eggs

So I have a female that has berried twice and lost eggs both times. Suggestions?

What do you mean she's lost them? Dropped them completely, or in a molt?

Great photo, lots of eggs............ can't see any eyes in those eggs?

Do you have a male in the tank?

As crabby, what do you mean by losing eggs?

It seems like she drops them. There are several smaller and assuming younger males in the tank. I currently have 9 in a 10 gal tank. Lost 1 due to stress in the move.

Shrimps may drop eggs if they are not fertilised or when stressed out.

Assuming they are not stressed, the eggs may not be fertilised.

How long is she holding them before she 'drops' them? Are you sure she isn't just giving birth and the babies are dying? Because that's a different problem altogether.

Update: So I've seen a few babies but I am losing shrimp every couple weeks. I had 9 and am down to 6 but counted 5 babies this am. Also noticed that one or two of my females appears to have Scutariella (thanks for the post on parasites). Ordered Genchem no planaria today off Amazon to treat the problem.

 

Water parameters are steady with pH of 7.6, gh 6.5, kh 3.7, TDS 169 and no ammonia, nitrate or nitrite. Those water parameters have held steady since mid Feb.

You water parameters are not anything to be concerned about. However, if you are still loosing shrimp with no sign of disease, maybe reduce GH a little to 5-6. Your shrimp might be having a hard time moulting, if they were raised in softer water.

 

<edit> - do you have Cholla in your tank?

Great news that you have sen some babies and hopefully there are more than you have seen? Any babies will be used to that water so should be stronger! The parameters look fine and I am assuming you are now using RO water plus re-mineraliser? 

I hope you manage to clear the scutariella problem without any problems?

      It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

      I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding?       Yes it’s super accurate to position where I want now and stay there- I am satisfied.  All the fish and shrimpers are doing excellent! Coming up on 4 years running!

      You must be pleased with that, it looks better and is much more robust and less likely to damage or leaks! The tank looks very natural now it has been running for a time. I see the ember tetras, how are the blue shrimp doing, I see a few? The cat and dog look very content and unimpressed, lol.
