Hi

I'm new to shrimp keeping having just collected some lovely Riffle Shrimp and a few Ghost Shrimp

20 odd years ago I mucked around with yabbies Cherax destructor, Euastacus spinifer and what I thought was Macrobrachium australiensis but now suspect they were Paratya australiensis

I have more space and time now to delve into this amazing hobby further

At the moment I only have Australian Bass Macquaria novemaculeata but my mate and I are looking for a few of the local small native fishes like the Rainbow fish, Blue Eye etc over the next few months

I'm more interested in the shrimp, last season I collected a few Macrobrachium rosenburgii but realised my bass were sucking the limbs off them (they were in a screened off area within the bass enclosure). Lesson learned, I now have 2 new holding systems with a 3rd being re commissioned for brackish species
