Coral for my shrimp

When I hear, "adding coral to your shrimp tank to help stabilize the PH". If it helps I will do it. So I went looking for coral. Now what I am finding is not 100% coral it contains coral or is coral like. That being said what products do others use for their RCS? My hello tank has rabbit snails in it if that changes what I can do.

Are you having a go with some red cherries in the same tank as before, or is this a new setup? Before you already had a high KH (6)  and GH (8), TDS was 200 and PH was 7.2 so you shouldn't need any coral for that tank, it may even be detrimental? Are these still the parameters? If so, they look pretty good, except the KH is a bit high!

I think (if I have it right????) coral is usually used to rase the KH which then stabilises the PH, and your KH is already high?

I think (if I have it right????) coral is usually used to rase the KH which then stabilises the PH, and your KH is already high?

This is the tank I had the deaths in. For some reason I lost almost every shrimp and now I have tons of babies that are doing well. I just want to make sure they have a good environment to thrive in.

Thats good to hear and if you are having lots of babies I would leave it alone, parameters were pretty good anyway! I wouldn't add coral, but get some indian almond leaves as shrimp love these and the biofilm that grow on them.

Really pleased to hear you have managed to turn the tank around and long may it last. Hope your sons blues are doing well also?

I was very surprised to say the least. I have the leaves in there and cholla wood too. I know it is good because when I do water changes it is like tea. I have the rabbit snails in there because everything I read says what comes out of them the babies love.

The blue tank is still doing very well also. Odd because the yellows I can see, they are all over the tank and are constantly swimming. The blues tend to still hide even though I know there are 100s of them in there.

Simon is right. If your water parameter is already high in KH, you don't want to add coral.
