Help with dying shrimp

Do you have a cover on the tank or is it too big for that, that should help with evaporation? As JayC states, TDS should increase with evaporation! I expect the cooler is the way to go if you can get one for a 60 gallon tank that isn't horrendously expensive. Not only should the chiller help with overheating, but should stabilise the temperature so the tank temperature won't keep fluctuating.

The Indian almond leaves break down slowly and release tannins in to the water which is good for the shrimps whilst biofilm grows on the leaf surfaces which the shrimp eat, so you just put the leaves in and leave them in there until they either completely disappear or I remove them when they are skeletal just because I don't really like that look? 

Dead shrimp will get eaten by other shrimps, I have seen this, but often sick/dying shrimp hide away anyway so you wouldn't see them dead anyway.

Even 50 shrimps in such a huge tank probably don't need any additional food, though variety is healthy so a small bit of treat now and then is good. I had over 100 shrimps in a 30L tank and I did feed them daily but very sparingly (in fact I was amazed they survived with the tiny amount I gave them). I think you said you feed some baby shrimp food (powder) and that is a good idea.

Do you need the Co2 as most don't use/recommend that with shrimps? Do you have one of those amazing aquascaped set ups?

As with JayC I would concentrate on getting the temperature stable and see if that solves the problem.

I don't use co2. My plants fo fine without

I do have a splash bar on the opposite end as the bubbler that disrupts the surface and helps generate a little O2.

I do have lids but I have to leave one of them opened do I can use the fan. It's a dual fan maybe 4 inch by 8 inch. 

I checked the TDS again after I posted and got 137. I'm not having much luck with TDS meters

Hopefully with a chiller the cover can stay in place which should help reduce the evaporation in the heat?

Don't forget to swoosh the TDS meter in the tank (rather than just dipping it in) to 'clean' the prongs each time otherwise there could be some residue/contaminant  on the prongs which will alter the readings.

From my lots of experience (in killing shrimps that is) if something goes wrong and you fix it some will still die up to a week later as they are very fragile and may have got sick/weakened by the problem, even if they didn't die instantly, so I wouldn't necessarily assume if some die once the problem is corrected that there is still a problem!
