Can I mix substrates?

In preparation for my current project, I need to order substrate, now I want a planted section, but the tank will be for Shrimp. Am I able to use ADA Amazonia in the planted areas, and then Benibachi in the shrimp play area?

My concern is the two substrates buffering methods/capacities competing again each other..

There's no problem just using ADA Amazonia. Many people do and have great success with it.

argee that mixing is fine and wont make any problems, but also ADA is also perfectly fine for shrimp tanks and is a great product all round.

i think most places are out of stock at the moment as they are waiting for the new shipment to arrive.

there are very few places that sell it in Australia but if you can wait a few more weeks for stock to arrive in Australia

then you should be able to get it.

my system is now running on a mix or shrimp sand / ADA / and Up Aqua soil .....

All seems to be just fine .... lots of shrimplets
