thought i would share with you all the new line i have created and have been working on for a while now...

they are my Green (ish) tiger cherry shrimp.. not full green yet but its something i am working towards.

i am pretty happy with the way they are coming along so far.

We've got a few that almost look like that at work in our Chocolate tank.... They look pretty cool. Nice and camouflaged in the above pic ;)

chocolates played a part in the breeding program for these along with a few other colors, but they breed true now and a few of them are really starting to get a nice green about them..

Gorgeous, Dean! I love the idea of green shrimp, but they might camouflage a bit too well in a planted tank :P

It seems that there is no end to the colours that Cherries can be! If only all animals could be bred like that...

I have a couple that you gave me dean with the same tiger like markings, but no green tinge. Cant wait for the green to intensify and these to be on the market, add me to your list when you have some for sale please :)

the ones you got were from the original breeding program i used just to get the tiger pattern, then after achieving this i started working on the green :)

No babies like that at the shop Dean, but they look pretty darn awesome. Consider me 2nd in line when they're available for sale. Just don't make them as expensive as the blacks, my bank account won't be able to tolerate that.

With green shrimps, I would create a new tank, designed to ensure they're seen......Stephen, this is where your expertise comes to play with plant selection. Soil/Substrate isn't an issue, driftwood/inert rocks isn't the issue, but depending on the green shade of the shrimp, there's several plants that come to mind....I'm still searching for a red moss ! Anyone ?

They are awesome!! The look exactly like the blue tigers (Caridina) I have seen, but green!!

Oh, cool Dean! Give us some green Tigers! I know a green or yellow Tiger is possible, as I had some wild-caught from China. Sadly, I had to move, I have given them to a friend, the friend did not keep them pure... and a story I have heard do often - strain LOST! However, I can imagine that getting them by targeted breeding and selection is even harder. I attach pics of my green and yellow Tigers as a little motivation aid - you can do it!

It never ceases to amaze me how many variations can occur from just one species.
